Tanalised® Micronised Copper Azole (MCA) Timber is natural wood that is treated with Tanalised® Micronised Copper Azole (MCA) preservative. This treated wood extends the life of treated timber with minimum health or ecotoxicity issues.
Tanalised® Micronised Copper Azole (MCA) Timber is suitable for commercial or residential uses. It is ideal for use in above ground, ground contact, and freshwater contact applications.
Tanalised® Micronised Copper Azole (MCA) Timber is based on copper combined with the organic fungicide tebuconazole and/or propiconazole. It protects the wood against termites and fungal decay. Tanalised® Micronised Copper Azole (MCA) preservative are used by independent wood-preserving plants.

The product is GreenTag Manufacture Claim Verified as Eco-Preferred Products.
The very small amount of Tebuconazole used in Tanalised® Micronised Copper Azole (MCA) Timber products is classified with the following Risk Phrases: Harmful if swallowed (R22), Toxic to aquatic organisms (R51), May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment (R53), Possible risk of harm to the unborn child (R63). Another substance named Propiconazole is also listed as hazardous substance which is under the classification of Risk Phrases: Harmful if swallowed (R22), May cause sensitization byskin contact (R43),Very toxic to aquatic organisms (R50), May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment (R53).
Due to the very limited amount of the above preservative chemicals are used in product (<or = 0.1% by weight of the board), and the controlled environment in which the preservative is applied, the likelihood of risk to organisms or the environment is low. However, OH&S requires that during manufacturing stage, extreme care should be taken when handling or applying the substance, ensuring appropriate safety gear and control over application area meet the highest standards.
