Green Building Council of Australia honours the work of Global GreenTag International

The Green Building Council of Australia has announced the 2023 Green Star Champions.

Global GreenTag International Chief Executive Officer David Baggs has been named amongst 26 industry leaders as a Green Star Champion by the Green Building Council of Australia. The award is a recognition by GBCA for making a significant contribution toward a more sustainable built environment.

David who is also a co-founder of Global GreenTag, proudly accepted the prestigious award following the company's years of working closely and enduringly to certify and align products for GBCA's Green Star® program, like no other accreditation label in the market today.

Receiving the award, David said is an honour that also belongs to the extended team at Global GreenTag International and its client family of progressive, sustainable manufacturers. David said:

"I'm proud and grateful to have received this Green Star Champion Award from GBCA. As the public face of Global GreenTag's entire, extended team, over the past 20 years of engagement with Green Star and GBCA, I feel the award is, in effect, also recognising their efforts as well."

"Green Star has moved the market dramatically, and GreenTag, our team and the entirety of our Certified Clients have been and are effective facilitators of the growth and outcome of most of the nearly 4000 Green Star projects during this time," he said.

The Green Star Champions award celebrates the efforts of planners, engineers, architects, professionals, consultants, and leading advocates who have helped to deliver a more sustainable built environment through Green Star certifications.

Jorge Chapa, Chief Impact Officer said GBCA is delighted to honour the industry leaders who are the driving force behind positive change. He said:

Green Star Champions for 2023 were celebrated at GBCA's Green Building Day events across Australia. David Baggs toured with the Council this year as a speaker, talking on a panel, titled: 'Unpacking the role of products, procurement and design in circularity.'
