Contribute to GreenTag EPD program public consultation for next set of building product PCRs

The Global GreenTag Environmental Product Declaration™ (EPD) program that provides the Life Cycle information that projects require, is releasing for public consultation its next set of building product Product Category Rules (PCRs), developed in collaboration with the Evah Institute. It is seeking comment from all industry stakeholders and particularly manufacturers for a public consultation into the development of EN 15804 Sub-PCRs for Masonry Roofing, Cladding, Paving, Piping or Lining.

Business customers and consumers alike seek reliable, quantitative data about the environmental impacts of products, to help them make informed purchasing decisions that account for impacts. Their decision-making is further supported by EPDs, such as prepared and provided by the Global GreenTag EPD™ Program that provide credible and scientifically correct data from products to assist projects working toward low-carbon economy and resource efficiency goals.

The Global GreenTag EPD™ is a user-friendly representation of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) results with each EPD providing reliable and comparable information, underpinned by relevant Product Category Rules (PCRs). Input by manufacturers into the development of PCRs is important, as it enables Global GreenTag assessors to tailor PCRs for the conforming LCAs to reflect typical material sourcing, adopted manufacturing processes and common use phase issues. Ultimately, for EPDs to represent all important information about products in an accessible way.
