Global GreenTag International supporting 2024 Sustainability Awards

GreenTag's CEO and Technical Director David Baggs helped to shape this year's Sustainability Summit and Awards in Sydney with Partners - Architecture & Design Take a look at the outstanding winners at this year's event.

Global GreenTag proudly took a role with Architecture & Design (A&D) this year to collaborate with the masthead's events platform, the Sustainability Awards. A&D invited GreenTag's CEO and Technical Director David Baggs to integrate GreenTag's criteria into the Sustainability Awards to further emphasise the importance of eco-friendly design.

Global GreenTag International has become a strong supporter and Industry Partner with A&D and the prestigious Awards.

Architecture & Design said the alliance with GreenTag marks a significant step towards fostering a culture of sustainability in the built environment, inspiring architects and designers to make greener choices.

"With David's deep expertise in product certification and sustainability standards, he was ideally positioned to guide the event, providing insight into how certified, sustainable materials and practices can revolutionise the architecture and design industry, also highlighting key innovations and underscoring the practical importance of transparency and certification in driving sustainable change across the built environment."

The Sustainability Awards help to raise greater awareness about sustainable practices and celebrate innovative projects that prioritise environmental responsibility.

"The calibre of projects and new materials coming through is exciting," said David Baggs. "We congratulate all winners and those who received high commendations across the categories. Please do keep bringing us this exemplar work."

The outstanding award winner of the night, sponsored by Autex Acoustics, was presented to Jackson Clements Burrows Architects for the T3 Collingwood build in Melbourne. The project represents a new generation of carbon-conscious commercial spaces. The design integrates a 5-level brick and concrete podium with a 10-level lightweight mass timber structure above. Inside features warm timber interiors that foster a calming atmosphere and biophilic connections, promoting occupant wellbeing—a feature not typically associated with high-rise office buildings.

The Green Building Material Award, sponsored by Cosentino, went to Crafted Hardwood Timber who are using new timber technologies to produce a different kind of timber that addresses current supply chain challenges while remaining deeply rooted in sustainability, effectively minimising waste, promoting the use of low-value forest resources, and opening up new possibilities for timber as a building material.

Special commendations in this category went to two interesting new materials:
