Living Building Challenge Recognises Robustness of Global GreenTag's Cleaning Standard for LBC Cleaning Protocols

The International Living Future Institute (ILFI), known for its rigorous green building certification programs, including the Living Building Challenge (LBC) 4.1 and LBC 4.0 framework, has formally recognized high-level certification and declaration awards under the Global GreenTag International Cleaning Product Certification Standard.

Cleaning products that have received a Global GreenTagCert™ Product Health Declaration™ (GreenTag PHD™) with a PlatinumHEALTH™ HealthRATE™ Certification or a Global GreenTagCert™ LCARate™ Platinum award are now recognized for LBC registered projects. The LBC framework is structured around seven performance areas, known as Petals, each representing an aspect of sustainable design. Cleaning products assessed under the GreenTag Cleaning Standard that have achieved these Platinum tiers will be recognized within Cleaning Protocols under LBC's Health and Happiness Petal, which focuses on creating healthy indoor environments that promote physical and mental well-being for building occupants.

Nana was recently invited to speak on a panel at a forum convened by the International Living Future Institute in Australia. Global GreenTag also released Version 1.2 of the Global GreenTag International Cleaning Product Certification Standard in May, which includes significant changes and updates, such as a re-focus on microorganisms to create a new benchmark for cleaning products within the built environment. The standard has been substantially expanded to address the complex claims that cleaning manufacturers bring to the market. Delivering high-quality, independent assessments for cleaning products, especially since COVID-19, has become critical for consumers and professionals in specification and procurement who require scientifically rigorous and verified, third-party product information.
